Texas Instruments is not listed in the Glimstedt report as holding essential GSM IPR. I assume they are included in the other category which accounts for 18% of the patents. Nokia(27%), Ericsson(21%), Motorola(11%) and Phillips(7%) are the key players. See page 16 here.

I previously thought they got GSM IPR from TXN also, but I must have been wrong.

Coming in 2006, was good timing and you posted the reason for the Nokia settlement that went unnoticed, at least on the monetary side of things.

You also sat in the Broadcom court room and delved into the heart of H.264. Never a so powerful email.
