Have you read the Odd Thomas books by Koontz? I have read the first two, but not this new one (Brother Odd); have my name on the wait list at the library. I love the character. For a long time I classed Koontz as just a horror writer, a King type, but he is an excellent, original wordsmith and a bit of a philosopher regarding good and evil.
