The sellers are doing just fine thanks to you and me. They have built cities for hundreds of millions of people. They have established world class universities. They have amassed patents to rent us intellectual property far into the future. They have educated billions of people. They are buying shares of stock on the New York Exchange and have the cash to buy the Fortune 500 outright when the time is right. We can become the drunk in the alley for all they care. But don't worry -- we are not there - yet. Its just good to know where we are headed. And for us the answer is no mystery. We are going to experience relative poverty. Because we are a democracy we can allocate the pain as we see fit. I suggest (since I am well-off) that we screw the poor -- it is the American way.
