I predict dems will win in 2008 if they have a strong centrist-progressive white male at the top of the ticket. I now that sounds sexist and racist but it's pragmatic to me. The VP slot is another matter. Of the available white males, Kerry has to be in your top two or three choices. if Gore doesn't run, Kerry has to be #1 or #2. He is extremely qualified, experienced and battle-tested. The same smears cannot be used against him again with any effectiveness. Ohio is now controlled by democrats. JK also has a large war-chest and that counts because it means he can last financially in a long marathon and he can hire the best people. BTW: Mark Warner really had a shot, maybe more so than Kerry. He would have been in my top three choices, but he bowed out.
