That's what you get when people present gossip and personal
theories as hard facts.

I wonder if that is a true statement, concerning Alan's post. Let's look:

investorshub.com

I don't think INTC has published any 45nm data, but has a summary on their web site here:
intel.com

Nope. He didn't claim the 45nm data to be "hard facts". In fact, he said he didn't think Intel had published any, and provided a link to the site he used for his speculation.

I guess that leaves him guilty of speculation, and goodness knows, Hans, *you* would never speculate about anything, would you?

Sheesh. Give the guy a break.

Hans

Mostly it comes down to banning or confining the persistent
pushing of "personal theories" especially if the poster tries
to sell his "personal theory" as facts.

Well said. I agree completely but claiming personal theories as fact is a big part of what this board is about. We would lose a lot of posters.

Hans: "The professional boards I know, the ones
with experienced and mature moderation, all had to develop
methods to handle people who persist in doing so."

This board is pretty far from professional, but FWIW many of us here value your recent contributions, and hope you continue to post here.

OT: Fiber's "last mile" issue was solved for my home today. Verizon FIOS, pretty zippy.

Alan was a flash manager at Intel for years, retired young. He's always been very up and up and quite honest.
