"I wanted to provoke debate," Carter said. "I wanted to provoke discussion."

I want to provoke the people.

Carter gave us the Camp David Peace Accord which was the first meaningful step toward peace in the Middle East. Bush has brought us nothing but war, acrimony, hostility and failed negotiations, plus almost no real diplmacy and zero talking to nations he doesn't like. What a terrible foreign policy or lack therefor this has been.

Criticizing Carter is ridiculous. He has done as much for world peace as any man alive. Sure he's critical of Zionists, because they are part of the reason we have so much trouble in the ME. It takes two to make war and hate each other, not just one, though the Islamic nuts are obviously more vile.

The whole situation over there is now such a mess than nobody knows where it's going. All we know is that there is tremendous damage control that needs to be done, and the last thing we need are more of Bush's neocon anti-peace ideas. Frankly if not for the oil we wouldn't even give a damn about any of them. The whole thing is about Bush's greedy oil buddies, and they are so inept and radical that they've stunned even James Baker. They make him look like a liberal, and he's the real head of Carlyle Group, the poster boy for US corporate war profiteering and fat cat imperialism.
