"The existence of Israel pretty much disproves the above sentence." Besides that, it ignores history. Israel was formed at a time when the entire world was in horror over the holocaust. Much of the world gave Israel a pass as it displaced natives to form Israel. The United States, one of the superpowers coming out of WW II backed it. Israel has the support of Jews worldwide, who regard it as their "homeland", even if they've never set eyes on it. Israel IS NOT like any other country. It's a theocratic state, much as Saudi Arabia is a theocratic state.
