From what I've been hearing, he's recovering without complication but it will take weeks and maybe months. In the meantime, it's good to know that the rules will keep his seat safe.

I've heard the same. He's responding appropriately to words, which is more than we can say about Strom Thurmond when he was in the Senate and George Bush.

P.S. If Strom Thurmond can serve so can a head of cauliflower. Or is that redundant?
