I see our little pond here in the US as being SO much higher than the rest of the world, that it will be going down for a long time before our boats experience any lift again.

Being a zero sum game has nothing to do with it. The water IS rising, in China, India, Vietnam and many other countries. Enough to more than compensate for OUR declining standard of living. In the aggregate, the boats ARE rising.
