I will grant you that AMD is providing the likes of Dell, IBM, HP etc with 65nm processors, however until there is availability, as defined as being available to you and me either in systems or piece parts, I don't think we can conclude anything beyond sample status. The quote you supplied mentions OEMs offering systems "immediately". Do you see any systems out there? Where can you or I get one? If they were available immediately, where are they? You ask if AMD was lying. If they said OEMs were offering systems "immediately" and OEMs aren't offering them "immediately" what would you call that?

Regarding Intel, we have the benefit of hindsight and we can see that they were in fact shipping production material over a year ago. History may confirm that AMD is doing that now but after the numerous schedule slips, and considering the enormous pressure AMD has been under to say something about 65nm, and the remarkable ability for analysts to forget all the process slips in the past, I think skepticism is not uncalled for.
