After reading Crichton's description of the little green man following him around in his 'autobiographical' book 'Travels' nothing surprises me from him. The guy makes his living attacking science, imagining the worst things from it. I suppose climatologists should be flattered....
In other words, if Crichton attacks you, you're probably doing important and valid work :)

Portraying a columnist that way in his book smacks of instability, appears to me.

Looks like Crichton really stepped in it. A professional hazard if you write for public attention. Some of those comments are doozies!

I hope Crichton can learn from this.
