Pretty much boggles the mind that a maid would travel across the planet to get a job that pays $200 per month! It sounds to me like the reason labor is so cheap in the UAE is because the "maid can travel...". If the UAE had very limited immigration, then labor would be much more expensive... the workers better paid, maybe even lower middle class. The same could be said for the US, no?
