TJ,
To what extent is China socialist? I know that there are still a large number of state owned enterprises where I suppose that now the workers receive a salary, but I am wondering if there are still collective farms and other such activities. When reference is made to the large numbers of "subsistence farmers" in the interior are these people now small landowners on their own small plots or are they still residing on the collective estates created back during Mao's time?
