Rat, Someone was saying that the Niners have a ton of salary cap room for next year. They also have 8 draft picks in the first 4 rounds. In the weak NFC, if they add a free agent defensive stud or two and continue to draft well, there is no reason they couldn't be 10-6 next year and in the hunt. Geez, if you look at the games they've lost this year (just take the Ram fiasco a few weeks ago and the first game against Arizona, both of which they could/should have won), they easily could be 8-6 and in the hunt right now. Of course, good teams find ways to win those games; I bet they take the next step next year. Isn't it cool to have reason for optimism? jpg
