Apparently, one of the first things they asked was, "What is the person's Party Registration?" It didn't seem to matter if they had training in the fields they were applying for or language skills or anything else, as long as they were good Republicans.

They had a party member fresh out of college start up the Iraqi stock exchange. What he lacked in experience he made up in zeal and committment? Wrong!

These Bushies say one thing and do quite another. Its been like this for six years now. That's why I believe it was all about the oil and nothing else.

"why not appoint people based on patronage"

One of the most Outrageous things I've read about Iraq is how they picked people to staff offices there after Bremer took over.
