Once I set up my spreadsheet and wrote the Excel macro, it didn't really take much time to do the weekly updates of the contest results. And whenever my portfolio showed up in the Top Ten I got some psychic rewards. In any case, I appreciate people's thanks for doing the job.
I'm hoping FilioF and/or John McCarthy will post a more comprehensive analysis of the contest stock picks but my quick check of the most popular stocks indicates their performance was less than stellar. For example, looking at the three top picks: COR was down -43%, MOGN was up about 7.5% and TELK was down -1.8%. Also, looking at the three top performing stocks (I may be somewhat off on this because of takeovers and name changes), RNAI, ANOR and HTI, RNAI and HTI were only picked in a single portfolio and ANOR in two portfolios.
Just donated my $250 pledge to Caspar-WomanPlace (to honor Jim S.) online.
Happy Challahdays everyone!
