...he was supposed to be a breath of fresh air.

I still consider him to be so as far his approach to politics and solution to problems is concerned.

Tom et al

This is what I meant by being an example------

Assuming that Obama (Barry to his friends) during his teanage years was using drugs including cocaine---------how did he shake these habits and accomplish what he has in life.

Did he simply pull him self up by the boot straps and say enough I am going to change. Did he check himself into a withdrawal clinic------seek a support group-------how did he do this.

Obama went to Punahou the one major private school on Oahu, then to the University of Hawaii and ultimately to Harvard and the United States Senate and is now considering seeking the Presidency of the United States of America.

This is truly quite an achievement.

Many parents would like to know how he did this-----considering that many of our young people are hooked on drugs or have had their brains and lives destroyed by use.

Quite true, very possible Obama is not running but just trying to sell books and prep himself for a run at the White House in 2012 or 2016 when conditions would be more favorable to him actually winning in the end.
