The middleclass pays more taxes than the rich. Payroll taxes. The rich can scheme to take advantage of every loophole possible. No deductions. Though admittedly they are forced to spend to save the taxes. So it stimulates massive spending by the rich who pay less taxes than the poor because of all they spend. very good for the top-line hooker business.

FICA is only 7.5% the employer picks up the rest, rich people pay way more in sales tax because they buy more. In most states food is not taxed.
