That's a very interesting way to look at things, and if widely adopted could take some of the sting out of the present paradigm (Christianity vs Islam). Much more neutral, and makes much more sense, to talk about tribalism. Even in countries like our own the main conflicts are often over tribalism. What is the greater strife over political affiliation, the greater "partisanship", but tribalism? It's not just about the world's problem zones. I think the success of man going forward will be determined by whether a large majority can overcome their (probably biologically selected) tribalist tendencies, or not.
