The Saudis tried to buy the Canadian and US oil industry back during the first massive recycling era after 1973 -- and they were blocked. Same thing happened to China a few onths ago. Japan did buy assets, but for smart political reasons as well as thier own cultural reasons they did not often buy US companies, preferring instead to do greenfield development. China will buy up Wall Street when the time is right -- for them.
