Postscript:

Consistent with your views is that ALL are protagonist of the cause; STOP CATFACE. Parties three and four wish it to be stopped so that they can claim compensation from the BC treasury. Way out, Man !

You also ignore the precedents set by Teck corp in its arrangement with the people of the Red Dog. It is not the assets of a small mining company that would tempt the Ahousaht, but the wealth of THEIR mine, which they would(and should) share.

Ah, do you favor policy and statutes that foster synergy between big gov't, big industry and special interest groups? Oligopoly and favored special status is not market based or anything near free enterprise or democratic. Forestry in BC is the classic example of oligopoly where about 80% or more of the stumpage is collected from just a few companies. It is clear that BC gov't only wants big mining and oil and gas companies but not an exploration industry that feeds them. Oligopoly also stifles initiative, efficiency and growth.

Yes i forgot to type in the point that the company had to have known full well the situation going in, so they will not be seen as passive victims in the inevitable Miner-Spare-that-Mountain scenario ... as for 'within the law', laws are man-made things and can be changed in a flash, they can be enforced or not enforced according to the whim du jour of the powers that be, they also cost a lot of money to play around with, and take time ... You'll find yuppiedom quite attached to its fog - just wait, there will be studies showing how removal of the top of the hill will have adverse effect on fog flow and quite possibly some endangered species of mite that lives on lice who live on the fourteen resident mice, or something .... Red Dog has no tourist trap at the base of it, it's way the hell and gone up north ... who's 'hung-up' on this tyke, notice how i'm just responding to your posts, feel pretty much a dispassionate observer on the whole thing .... i do have fog stories, but am taking care of my two year old this morning
