American Spirit means some very important things, almost all of which the neocon rightwing has forsaken. If you people go back to the father of modern conservatism, Barry Goldwater, and read what he belived in you will clearly see where you have gone wrong. Goldwater had a lot of American Spirit. But you people have forsaken him.

One of the great myths of the rightwing is that Reagan had successful policies. Indeed his personality and charisma were very successful, but his policies were not. Supply side economics didn't work then and doesn't work now. Starting wars overseas only work if they are little wars you can get in and out of quickly. Reagan started occupying Lebanon and got burned. He also did not end communism, he just rode is down as it was already in the process of ending.

Reagan also supported Saddam Hussein and fed arms to the Iranians. This fueled both sides of the war between them where huge numbers died horrendous deaths, including all the WMD use Hannity complains about. All on Reagan's watch and Reagan did nothing.

This may be what we are headed for now with the Sunnis and Shias. Notice both wars started during righgtwing administrations. One wonders if these Bushies want wars in the Middle East for various reasons, including a spike in oil prices.
