Liar. Kerry was not a rich kid. His parents never had money. Also, Kerry served two tours of duty. He volunteered for Vietnam and specifically for combat. He excelled in combat. Killed enemy. Saved lives. Charged into enemy fire. Risked his own life repeatedly. Was injured three times and could easily have been killed. All triple Purple Heart winners have the option of leaving. By that time Kerry had seen enough. What he saw going on in Vietnam was increasingly disturbing, including atrocities on our side, illegal assassination and bombing campaigns inside Cambodia, orders to kill anything that moves, burn hootches, drop Agent Orange (a terrible poison) on innocent people and their farms, and a lot more. But Kerry never bvlamed any of the troops, he squarely blamed Nixon and his war-planners. That is one of the biggest rightwing lies, that Kerry would ever blame the troops. Kerry was not alone. Something like half the combat veterans of that era turned against the war, or against the Top Brass more accurately. They saw the war as insane, pointless, poorly run, tremendously wasteful and barbarous. They increasingly saw the 55,000 US troops killed as a big fat waste. SO it was up to them to do what they could to stop it. Kerry was a natural leader and was chosen to represent the vets against the war. He did so with dignity, courage and honesty. Nixon's FBI surveillance report concluded that Kerry never did anything radical, illegal or anti-American. He did not work with Jane Fonda, for instance. Another rightwing lie. Nixon wanted Kerry discredited and destroyed but they could never find a single piece of dirt on him. Years later Charles Colson apologized to Kewrry from prison for lying about him. Kerry was a hero, both in Vietnam and back home. So with no real dirt, in 2004 the Bushies dirty tricksters just made stuff up. Total lies and fabrications McCain called "dishonest and dishonorable". Which means if McCain is the GOP nominee, he will not be use that garbage against Kerry again, assuming Kerry is the Dem nominee and the two old friends run against each other. In fact no one can. Including you. So quit lying.
