But the press is never hard on McCain for some reason. They always give him a pass. Maybe it's becuse at certain times McCain has spoken out against the Republican establishment and he co-sponsored McCain-Feingold and even the Kerry-McCain CAFE standards bill, both of which Bushies hated.

Whatever the reason McCain is very hard to demonize. On the other hand, you're right, McCain is on the wrong side of the Iraq debate, so he's vulnerable on defense issues. But vulnerable from who? Move.On? Hardly. Obama? Not likely. Hillary? No way.

McCain's biggest attribute is that he is a very credible commander in chief. That's why I think we need Gore or Kerry to run against him. WHile we can't out-military McCain, we can at least neutralize that advantage of his. Biden is another one, if he ever gets traction.
