Agreed, McCain is wrong, but he's still a formidable candidate amongst the moderate swing-voters, the type who voted for Perot and decide close elections. So beware about sending a black, woman or obvious liberal against McCain in the heartland, no matter how charismatic they may be.

Remember we didn't take back the Senate by running liberals. And I still say it is extremely likely that our next president will end up being a white male.

"Powell also agreed with the study group's recommendation that the administration open talks with Syria and Iran as it gropes for a solution to the Iraq problem. Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have explicitly rejected talks until Syria ends its destabilizing influence in Lebanon and support for anti-Israel militants, and until Iran suspends its nuclear enrichment program. The administration has charged both countries with aiding the Iraqi insurgency."

Agree with Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's position that Syria end its destabilizing in Lebanon and stop suporting ani-Israel militants plus Iran suspending its nuclear enrichment program----- once those conditions are being met then we talk.

If these conditions are not met, Iran will come to the table and says we want the nuclear capability as a condition for using our influence in Iraq ------for withdrawing Iran's monetary and military support of the insurgency in Iraq--- while simultaneously not doing so.

With Iran wanting an enrichment program we are back to the cold war days of Mutually Assured Destruction---------is that what we want? I think not.
