No, of course not. It is an accounting of our FEDERAL government's assets and liabilities. In there, should be a sizeable amount of social security assets in trust to pay us when we retire.

Yosemite Park has to be worth a couple billion.

You're not forced to live within your means. Are you saying you never had a mortgage on a house, a credit card balance, a car loan or any debt? If you did (or currently do), and are making the payments on your debt, then what's your point?

Debt is only a problem if you can't service it. If you can't service it, you go bankrupt and the lender seizes your assets and you are worthless toast. If you can service it, there's no problem.
