Given the choices of: 1) Take the pain now and allow the economy to rebalance or 2) Take worse pain later, I think they've already shown which option they prefer. The 5 coupon passes all said take worse pain later. Sort of like the Iraq war decision. Leave now and admit defeat or leave later and blame the next administration costing thousands more lives and hundreds of billions more money. Bush wants more troops and is choosing option 2.
