Nah... 'in for a penny, in for a pound'!

The vast bulk of the true believer neo-cons are utterly wedded to their original policy positions --- regardless of any objective developments in the 'real world'.

(But then again... they have never been over much fond of objective reality.)

Or, perhaps more accurately... it simply doesn't matter to them. For SOME of the 'neo-cons', the ONLY policy that matters (regardless of it's effects upon the United States) is whatever policy that keeps American boys actively fighting against Arabs, Persians, Turks, etc. ...basically anyone who could potentially threaten Israel.

So, *regardless* of how any 'war' goes, it's STILL a good thing when contrasted with the alternative of no American involvement in a war.

I think you have to admit that suggesting that we talk with Iran and Syria (who are part of the problem) does not inspire confidence in the report by anyone with a grip on reality....
