I am a free market guy, but in this instance i have to give them credit. Instead of printing money to buy dollars, they decided to devalue their currency with the use of capital flow restrictions. US, Japan, Asia and to some extent Europe are all in a currency devaluation race to the bottom of the pit. But the dollar is toast, no matter how much Japan, China and Europe intervene to support it.

Mish's excellent analysis on Mosler Mish, in his global wisdom on beggar thy neighbor policies happening everywhere has just posted his amazing analysis of the king of the neo-chartalists. In one corner we have Mike Shedlock, a former photographer and grocery manager who often gives advice on how to wrap meat with the right kind of freezer paper. In the other corner we have Warren Mosler, one of the most successful hedge fund managers in history with 15 years of straight gains and never any losses before leaving his fund and brokering some of the largest futures deliveries EVER in asia. One who advocates anybody basing policy decisions on the gold standard that nixon broke in the 70's are ignorant fools to modern operational monetary mechanics. So dear readers, what does this grocery manager do to analyze and expose the education, background, history, ideas of such an opponent? Mish says he is in AWE of such stupidity. No really, that's it. Nothing else about this Mosler Person, inventor of the car I drive - the MT900. When did Mish become so lazy? Nothing about why steve liesman felt it necessary to bring this guy on - his website www.moslereconomics.com - how in fact mish and this guy actually have very similar views regarding the ignorance of bernanke and friends. Very similar views of the purpose and usefulness of reserves. Very similar views of the failure of our fed and the economics profession in general. Etc etc Mish I am really disappointed in you, as should everyone else that ever gave you on iota of respect. While I do appreciate your media exposure of Mr. Mosler because even negative publicity can help raise awareness. Your character assassination is less than the effort of a toddler. Don't your readers deserve a better and more thorough review of the opponent you are trying to criticize? What happened to the Mish that would do all kinds of research, in depth review and analysis? Attacking the message and not the messenger? Mosler is ultimately trying to advocate policies that would help the unemployed in this country, currency debasement on floating fx may be the best he thinks we can do against the china peg. What happened to the old mish that would read the books of his opponents, like that time you made C-span talking about abdiatic oil. What happened to that computer programmer Mish that wanted to do something real and constructive, instead of just silly one liner's to appeal to the funny bone of the masses, pathetic, you have turned into a disgrace Mish. You have become everything I thought you once tried to fight against, ignorance and shallow observations. Didn't nietchze once talk about not becoming the monsters you fight as you battled the abyss? I have some news for you though grocery man. Mr. Mosler is living down in the USVI to get that 3% tax rate on his financial stuff and also owns a bank in palm beach. I just got back from a conference by Dr. Lonnie Thompson that in the future it is very possible the USVI is gonna do an atlantis and go under the ocean and palm beach with it as the glaciers melt. So maybe all that food handling advice you gave will come in handy for the islanders as they make thier escape - LOL! Here is some reading for you grocery man, if you haven't become too lazy that is.
