Turn the 'Sunni areas' (which mostly are desert, except for the capital and river areas, and no one wants because there is no oil), and also turn the roughly 1/2 of the country that is populated by the majority Shiite population all 'over to the Kurds'????????? LOL! Yeah, THAT'LL WORK! (And it's because everyone really cares what we say about land ownership in the region! :-) >>> Not only is there no basis in international law for any of that... but it would also violate Iraqi law, not to mention pissing off about 80% of the population, and convincing everyone that we had finally gone TOTALLY OFF OUR ROCKERS... and could safely be totally ignored like some crazy Aunt up in the attic.... The only land ownership that is going to be respected is that which is fought for and won and held by locals.
