I’m a bit of a counterargument. I was asked to leave Sunday school at age 8 because I was winning debates with the teachers about evolution vs. creation. Apparently it was confusing the other kids.

Looking back, I feel a little sorry for those volunteers having to deal with a mouthy little prodigy like me.

And I’m sure my parents regretted losing those child-free hours on Sunday morning!

I have enjoyed the brief discussion about religion. You talk sense here, IMO. However, is it not true that intellectual progress in our world has been in lock-step with Christianity (and other religions)? Have you any evidence that religion or faith has stultified intellectual development in world history ?
