It seems to me that a lot of Iraqies and a lot of other arabs don't want to live in a democracy.

Its not as much that they don't like the idea of living in a democracy (well some of them don't but its more than that), its that they want their group to be in charge. If their group was in charge through democracy then fine. If not, well they aren't strongly committed to democracy.
