I for one am waiting to see what Apple comes out with. I do not own an iPod - want one but it has not been a priority. I don't have a lot of time to listen to music but would still like to have an iPod from time to time. However, I do always carry a cell phone with me and would also like a little more functionality as far as and easy way to keep and sync a schedule, etc. There might be something available already but have been too busy or too lazy to do much research. Now, if Apple comes out with a cell phone/iPod combo with some other convenient functionality I will buy one as long as the expected quality is there.

I suspect there are a lot of people out there like me. Plus, you have all those folks that own a dozen iPods and will still buy it. And, lastly you have those non-Apple folks that will buy it and start looking at other Apple products.

One thing that has always struck me as curious. We have heard rumors about the iPhone for a long time - much longer than normal development would seem to dictate. What took them so long? Was it just Mr. Jobs perfectionism? Waiting for some new technology? Waiting for the appropriate deals to line up? Regardless, Apple has had plenty of time to come up with a kick-ass product.

Well I know that there are thrid party software solutions that make existing products (WinMobile and Palms OS) work fine with Macs. Are you guys all waiting for the officially sanctioned Apple offering?
