It's a matter of timing. Like I said, it takes decades to destroy a country. I doubt our debt and deficit problems will sink our economy this year or next, but it will sink us eventually. When? I have no idea. Maybe a decade or two from now. But it is inevitable. We can't spend more than we earn forever without consequences. It is coming as sure as the sun will come up tomorrow.

In the mean time, plenty of US stocks will continue to do well. Basically, as our gov't spends and spends they are increasing the risk to all of us that own stocks, but as of right now, given that I have less than 5 years to retire, I'm not willing to allow that increased risk to drive me out of the stock market, especially since the probability is high that I can make some darn good money in the next 3-4 years in the market, and especially with stocks like Cisco.
