Of course it makes perfect sense, combjelly. I mean what government in their right minds would spend $600B to free Americans from oil dependency. That would mean we wouldn't need to fight as many wars, which means less need to buy all that military equipment that consumes so much oil. The whole military-oil-industrial complex wouldn't stand for that nonesense. It was them that bankrolled the campaign that got Bush elected for the job afterall.

Silly Americans for wanting to do something as crazy as free ourselves from oil dependence and reliance on the world's craziest Middle Eastern Muslim despots.
