Armitage Who?

Blogs for Bush

The Plamegate "scandal" has long been over for most of us... When it was revealed that Richard Armitage "leaked" the name of the of non-covert agent Valerie Plame "without any malicious intent," all the liberals who were ready to convict President Bush, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, etc. etc. were proven wrong. But, even now, the media still wants to keep this non-issue alive and well and venomous to the Bush administration.

Earlier today, the Associated Press reported that Vice President Cheney will be called as a witness in "the CIA leak case," but omitted any reference to Richard Armitage and the circumstances behind the leak in the story.

In fact, the omission appears to be deliberate:

<<< Libby is accused of lying to investigators about what he told reporters regarding former CIA operative Valerie Plame. Plame's identity was leaked to the news media around the time that her husband, former ambassador Joseph Wilson, publicly criticized the Bush administration's handling of prewar intelligence on Iraq. >>>

No mention of Armitage... no mention of the lack of malicious intent... (ED: no mention of the fact that Willson lied his ass off about the whole affair from the start)...
Just the fact her idenity was leaked to the news media around the time Wilson was publicly criticizing the Bush administration's handling of prewar intelligence on Iraq. Hmmm.... Sounds like the AP is still trying to make people think that Bush/Cheney/Rove were behind the "leak."

Perhaps we shouldn't be too shocked... Back when it was revealed that Armitage was in fact the source of the "leak" the MSM was rather mum on the revelation, so, it's not exactly news that the media is still trying to pin the whole thing on Bush.
