Not to go OT too much here, but to answer this concern, I will say this:

The resurrection of Jesus was an historical fact. Paul himself says that if that did not really happen, then all Christianity falls apart, and so does the little library of 66 books and letters called the Bible (1 Corinthians 15:13-19). So, there would be plenty to worry about if He did not do so. However, it did happen. The proofs exist. The event was predicted by the Old Testament. This provides a harmony of it to the New Testament and shows divine oversight of the writings. Next, all the authors of the NT are eyewitnesses of the resurrection. Many of them saw Him taken into heaven to be seated at God's right hand. Many of them died willingly proclaiming it. None of them raised a sword to defend themselves from martyrdom nor incited an uprising to prevent it or avenge it.

Further, His resurrection proves His divinity. Since I have met Him as living person and have had the same effects that the eyewitnesses said would happen to those who believe in Him, I can confirm it personally. In short, it is possible to prove the claim Christianity makes. But the requirement of repentance is too much for most to consider, for you must die to your life as you know it and embrace a new one with new affections, new goals, new manners of life that come from the power of the indwelling Spirit of God.

I will agree with anyone that if Christianity is, in fact, only a myth or based upon the unverified, no matter how many people believe it, it should be abandoned by all and not spread about as a means of eternal life.

So, I am not concerned with any difficulty in comparing Egyptian or Islamic myths with Christianity. Let the Egyptians or Muslims bring forth their predictions and eyewitnesses of the major claims of their gods and let's see what's what.

Mahmuda became pregnant and on Nov 15 gave birth to a male child, who died after two days.

Dhaka, Dec 19 - Police in Bangladesh have rescued a teenage vagrant from being caned as per a 'fatwa' - issued by a Muslim clergy on charge of becoming an unwed mother after a liaison with an influential father of two.

According to the fatwa announced last Friday by Abdus Sobhan, khatib of the Jawa Jame mosque at Chhatak in Sylhet district and an assistant teacher of a local madrassah, Mahmuda Begum was to be beaten in broad daylight with a bundle of bamboo canes 'till she bled copiously'. The arbitrators avoided the issue of punishing the adulterous Lala Miah, an influential man who deceived the girl, the New Age newspaper said.

Unaware of what was happening, the authorities got into action after local media reported the verdict. Police detained four persons for interrogation about the fatwa.

The girl's father Harab Ullah, a former freedom fighter, lives by begging. The local arbitrators, acting under the fatwa, forced the father to go to the local mosque with a garland of old shoes around his neck. He has gone missing since then, local villagers said.

Lala Miah, 38, established an extra-marital relation with Mahmuda more than a year back. He used to meet Mahmuda at the home of Jabaful Begum, the woman member of the local upzilla - committee.

She helped him seduce the hapless girl, enticing Mahmuda by telling her that he would marry her, said locals.

Mahmuda became pregnant and on Nov 15 gave birth to a male child, who died after two days.

She escaped punishment immediately after the verdict only because one of the appellants against her died, requiring postponement.
