Thanks for the explanation - much appreciated. I didn't know Dan Norcini had an economics bent either.

A few of the charts I have on the Wiemar period do show that exact effect. In early to mid 1920, perhaps due partially to the world wide recessionary period, the mark did gain on the dollar.
