>>Comparing one of the biggest shopping days in history to a prior year of zero is big.<<

Maybe you can explain that. We do have one extra shopping day this season over last but why would the Saturday before Christmas be considered it. I think the public is more inclined to spend the same amount over one extra day season.

Bad weather. Sure we have bad weather in winter. But there is 'bad weather', and REALLY bad weather'. WE have some really bad weather going on now, in addition to above average temperatures that will hit cold weather clothing.

25 to 35% comps. I don't see it. The numbers will be adjusted for the extra day or noted with a foot note. Nobody reports weekly sales anyway.

Big mistake my friend. The biggest mistake is believing anything in the way of stats coming out of Washington. They lied about the Iraq war and weapons of mass destruction so you think they tell the truth about the economy just before Xmas or do they lie as usual?

If you believe them all I can say is a fool and his money are soon parted as evidenced by those who bought homes in the last year to speculate on and will soon be out on the street.
