"Add to that what we just learned, that the cold glacial melting water now streaming in floods into the North Sea from Greenland prevent the Golf Stream to reach up into the North Sea."

It doesn't prevent it directly, it shuts down the downwelling which drives the whole Ocean Conveyor. That has weakened about 30% over the last decade.

""A couple of degrees" lower would take is straight into a mini glacial period!"

Just Europe. Won't affect North America much, although it likely will change weather patterns. So Europe will experience a climate per latitude like North America. A problem we have always had with visitors from northern Germany is the whole climate thing. They like to plan trips here for July and August. We warn them it is hot here then, and they reply "we like it hot". But they are thinking Spain. That's a mistake. If you look at a globe and follow the lines of latitude, they should be thinking more North Africa. With rain. For the "hot" they have in mind, they need to plan for March or April. Or maybe October.
