This was exactly the kind of news story I avoided up to now. But the politics of it, especially regarding the Academia involved, are really interesting.

Duke is a "Johnny come lately" to big time Academia. It was started in the '30s, and had made it's name by hiring the big time academic names who are really left wing. The actions by the Profs have made the Alumni so mad that the President is scheduling meetings around the state with them to try to keep them sweet.

The have been pissing on rich young Fraternity types whose fathers and mothers, and their whole generation, make up the best donaters to Duke. Not exactly the people you want mad at you.
