With dev it goes to the development site. I can immediately tell because I'm not logged in to that site. Also the update of posts from one site to another might not be immediate. I don't know what that means. SI isn't just one web site. Your logged in to the development version of the website. I'm logged in to the production version. I believe posts get copied from one to another automatically which is why I can read your posts and you can read mine, but there may be a delay. Edit - Its possible you might be logged in to both.
