How many LINE MANAGERS at Dell have 100K stock options? Almost everyone at that same level at cisco does.

comparing Dell to Cisco is ridiculous. they are in different businesses and have very different gross margins. next why don't you claim how much better compensated the Cisco line manglers are compared to Walmart greeters.

i was talking with an Intel worker tonight who recently moved to Austin. apparently the prospect of actually being able to afford a house is oddly appealing to some people once you get east of Phoenix. i asked him what the pay difference was. he said 15% more for Silicon Valley--that is what Intel pays as extra to workers who work in overpriced locations like Silicon Valley. not triple the money like you claim, LOL.

I look at the grade level that silicon valley companies are compensating their engineers with stock vs. what

you used to be the champion of stock options NOT being compensation, back on the Cisco thread circa 2001. now you claim options ARE compensation, LOL.

in any case, as i showed you the median salary in Austin is only 8K less than the Silicon Valley hellhole. so your belief that housing prices should be 3x higher in the hellhole based on salary differences is not based on reality.
