kris, this is exactly what I'm talking about

The same article is saying that last year (November, December 2005) total retail, same store sales rose 5% yoy. The SAME store sales in November, December 2006 grew by an average 3%, a 66% drop in the rate of growth from last year. After adjusting for inflation this years growth is zero. The second issue is that selling at huge discount (giving stuff away) doesn't mean making money.
