I didn't really know about tendons and how tough they really are, until I tore/shredded my left achilles, and earlier had torn the tendon by the ruptured bursa and rotator in my right shoulder. The Doc explained it (tendon) like the chicken gristle at the top of the chicken leg bone that holds everything onto the bone....

The tendons take MONTHS to heal, I found (and continue finding) out....

That must have hurt like a son-of-a-gun, and even though they say you can't really remember pain, I for sure know you can remember that it hurt like he-doubletoothpicks....
