Oh, I'm not knocking him for being charitable but, IMO there are too many people out there working and paying taxes that are barely getting by that deserve these houses more than someone who's biggest qualifications are dropping out of school and having too may kids to care for. We (my builder friends and I) build 1 charity house a year, generally for someone who was put in an unfortunate situation. (Last year it was a family of 5 and the youngest girl had leukemia). We don't use it as a tax write-off, and we don't publicize it for fear of having every deadbeat in three counties camping out on our doorsteps. Even the local churches have it set up where they will send a desperate family to the super market with a voucher for FOOD ONLY as opposed to giving a handout. Look around dude - begging is big business!
