Ideally, yes... but that takes a lot of TIME and MONEY.

So I wouldn't expect significant effects from 'alternative' except in the time frame of 'decades'.

Meanwhile, of course, conventional oil production will be plateauing and then slowly falling, keeping a strong upward bias for prices.
