I don't think we give foreign aid so much to feed the hungry as we do to keep friendly governments in power and to build new international friendships. Some times it works, as with England, Japan, or Germany (even though we had to stomp the latter two into the ground so we could help them rebuild), and sometimes it doesn't, as with ALL the Muslim countries. Somalia would probably be our ally now if we dropped a couple daisy cutters on Mogadishu and anihilated it's entire population and then sent lots of aid to rebuild it. Of course we couldn't do that because the UN would get on our case about killing civilians. What's that all about, anyway? If we were worried about collateral damage or killing civilians, either we would still be fighting WWII or I would be posting this in German. Is killing civilians in a war inhumane? Sure it is! That's why they call it a WAR and not a party! Anyway, back to the foreign aid. I'm against it! If the SOB's starve to death they won't be able to attack us, will they?
