Re: evangelism. I recently ran across an interesting website which claims that Christian evangelicals are converting millions of Muslims to Christianity every year, especially in Africa.
crusadewatch.org

It's hard for me to tell whether this site really is run by people who are opposed to Christian evangelism, or by Christian evangelists themselves, pretending to be someone else so they can hype their own successes.

Revealing my own biases, even though I am not a member of any evangelical church, unless you consider the Catholic Church evangelical, I would rather see Muslims convert to evangelical Christianity than remain Muslim.

Stem cell research and gay rights are luxuries.

Respect for the rights of others to worship as they please, respect for the rights of women to work outside the home, get an education and vote, these are necessities.

Edit: supposedly, this article translated from Al Jazeera claims that 6 million African Muslims convert to Christianity every year.

Would that it were so.

But the Gay left would have you believe that two same-sex individuals >>

lol Hawk, how did I know that somehow it would be the liberals fault. Someday I hope you come to the conclusion that the right is boofing you in the butt more than the left ever could. Anyway, I do agree with you about your view on civil unions. Just give them that and walk away. I don't see what the problem is. I am not so sure that gay families can confuse the upbringing of a child. I have not personally researched this out but have come across some studies that suggest being brought up in a gay family has no determination of a childs sexuality. And when you consider that the divorce rate is somewhere near 50% of our population, that suggests to me that there are plenty that are already confused and that has nothing to do with gay unions of any sort.

For stem cell research. I would love to see a lot of research into alternatives to using stem cells. Who wouldn't? Up until now I have not seen anything come across my screen that suggests there is an alternative that has as much promise as stem cells. Being a betting man, I would put my money on something coming around pretty quick.

As for gays or christians influencing our government. Any group can lobby our government and most do including both gays and christians, and it is legal. Probably shoudln't be at the leves that is happens, but its legal. Lets be clear about something. There are no gay institutions that are operating tax free. Most churches have a tax free status. Along with that tax free status comes a few rules like not throwing your support towards government bodies. So your comparison on how the christains view the gays vs how the gays view the christians is just not an apples to apples comparison.

lol Hawk, you never give me any credit. I have seen what appears to be the beginnings of a christian movement towards environmental concerns and thats a good thing. I personally think the christians have a lot to offer our society and they bring a lot of good things to the table. I don't think they do it in constructive ways and that is probably a reflection on there leaders more than themselves.

Many species that inhabit this planet have a small percentage of there population that is gay. As for putting the responsibility on the gay community promoting how there gay relationships benifit society?? Could the heterals really provide valid information on how they can contribute positively any better than the gays can?
