Trillions have been transfered from the middleclass and federal government into the pockets of the very rich and the Bush corporate cronies. Bushies point at the stock market and gloat, but that merely represents part of the big wealth transfer. Half the stock is owned by the top 2%. And extra corporate profits are being made off squeezing the US workingclass as well as outright gouging by the energy and health care sectors.

The last factory in my mother's hometown in Illinois just closed down. That kept that town alive for 50 years, but now the town will die. Multiply that story times 10,000 and you get the idea. Plus, the conservatives would love to get rid of Social Security and Medicare, or just privatize it so it's all for-profit and a lousy deal for consumers and retired workers.

Also, every time you see a drug or energy company ad on TV just remember, we the taxpayers subsidize those ads. They are a tax write off. But they are meant to deceive, and to also sell us highly-profitable drugs we don't need. We would be much better off just legalizing marijuana. At least that would help small farmers and generate huge tax revenues. and what gets you more stoned, Ambien or a joint?
